In 1980 two plots were purchased adjacent to the Al-Sadiq mosque. A plan was made in 1980 to rebuild the mosque as the old mosque turned weary.

West Coast Jalsa
The Ahmadiyya Community, West Coast, USA held its first regional annual convention in the Masonic Temple at 897 Colusa Avenue, Berkeley. Mir Mahmud Ahmad Nasir, missionary in-charge, presided over the convention. Seventy-five attended. (The Ahmadiyya Gazette USA, June 1980).

Khalifatul-Masih III Tours USA
Khalifatul-Masih III (may Allah shower His mercy on him) toured the USA for the second time from 11 September to 23 September 1980. He visited San Francisco, Washington D.C. and Longwood Gardens PA. His stay in San Francisco was for four days. He led Friday prayer and met members of the Jama’ats. He delivered Friday sermon in San Francisco on 12 September 1980. Khalifatul-Masih III Arrives in Washington, DC
Khalifatul-Masih III (may Allah shower His mercy on him) flew to Washington D.C. on 15 September 1980 for a week where he met 1,000 people in 112 groups. He convened meetings with missionaries and gave instructions regarding matters of interest. He had a dialogue with American dignitaries at a reception in San Francisco. Feast at World Bank Building

Khalifatul-Masih III Delivers Friday Sermon
Khalifatul-Masih III (may Allah shower His mercy on him) delivered Friday sermon in Washington D.C.
He over viewed activities of missionaries and Presidents of chapters in a specially convened meeting.
He instructed them to prepare literature about moral ethics within a year. Procure land for ‘Id congregations. Tabligh and literature distribution should be given due importance. Make plans to publish Tabligh folders in all well-known languages. Publish 50,000 copies of short English commentary of Holy Quran in the US. Special Meeting
A special meeting was held under the chairmanship of Khalifatul-Masih III (may Allah shower His mercy on him) on 20 September 1980. It was attended by missionaries of the USA.
Khalifat-ul-Masih III enquired from Ahmadiyya missionary in-charge Syed Mir Mahmood Ahmad about the action taken on the instructions for distribution of forty thousand copies of Quran.
Missionary in-charge replied that thirty thousand names and addresses of such Americans have been recorded in a register. The work is in progress for remaining contacts. Training and propagation work of US missions was analyzed. Missionaries and presidents of the chapters presented reports. Following matters were discussed. Establishment of community centers (should be called Eid Gah in future), publication of folders, the problems and its solution regarding marriages and payment of obligatory dues at the prescribed rates.
A reception was arranged by the US Mission in honor of Khalifatul-Masih III (may Allah shower His mercy on him) on the night of 20 September 1980 at the Hilton Hotel, Washington. Farewell Reception for Khalifatul Masih III
A farewell reception in honor of Khalifatul-Masih III (may Allah shower His mercy on him) was arranged in the hall of hotel Shoreham Americana on 21 September 1980. Syeda Mansoura Begum, wife of Khalifatul-Masih V, participated.

Ronald Reagan 40th US President
Ronald Reagan was inaugurated as 40th US President on 20 January 1981. He remained in office for two terms till 20 January 1989.
Ahmadiyya missionary to the US, ‘Ata‘ullah Kaleem, wrote a congratulatory letter to newly elected US President Ronald Reagan and presented to him the Holy Quran with English translation.

Inamul-Haq Kauser Arrives
Inamul-Haq Kauser arrived in Washington D.C. on 18 April 1981. He remained missionary of the Northeast region (New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Rochester, Willingboro, and New Jersey) of the USA with headquarters in New York. (The Ahmadiyya Gazette, USA, Vol. 72, Nos. 10-12 and Vol. 73, Nos. 1-9, October 2020-September 2021, p. 47).
He returned to Rabwah, Pakistan in April 1983 after three years of missionary work and returned to the US again in September 1984. (Letter from Inamul-Haq Kauser dated 21 November 1981-Record Tabshir).
In June 2010, Missionary Inamul-Haq Kauser was transferred to Chicago where he stayed up to September 2014. After this, he was appointed as Amir (National President). (The Ahmadiyya Gazette, USA, Vol. 72, Nos. 10-12 and Vol. 73, Nos. 1-9, October 2020-September 2021, p. 47).

Mufti Ahmad Sadiq Arrives
Mufti Ahmad Sadiq arrived in the USA on 18 September 1981. He served in San Francisco and then in Los Angeles as a missionary from 1981 to 1983.
Following chapters were under his control. LA, San Francisco, Seattle, Tucson, Portland. He had five Jama’ats to supervise which he visited four times each. He attended 23 Tabligh meetings, seven out of them at local level. (The Ahmadiyya Gazette, USA, September 1983, p. 10-11).

Convention on Founders of Religions
A convention on founders of religions was held at University of Maryland, College Park Campus at Zoo-Psych Building 1240, Washington under the chairmanship of Sir Muhammad Zafrulla Khan.
Rabbi Andrew Baker, Director of the American Jewish Committee Washington D. C. chapter spoke on “Moses- A Law Bearing Prophet;” the Venerable Oung Mean Candavanna, Spiritual Leader of the Cambodian Buddhist Society addressed on “Buddha- the Light of Asia;” Rev. M. John Farrelly OSB, Prof. of Theology De Sales School of Theology Washington, D. C. explained “Jesus and the Christian Way;” and Alhaj ‘Ata Ullah Kaleem, the Imam of the American Fazl Mosque Washington, D. C. delivered his speech on “Muhammad the Messenger of Allah.”
In his Presidential address, Sir Muhammad Zafrulla Khan exhaustively dealt with the moral and religious degeneracy of the present-day society and then presented its solution in the acceptance of the Reformer of the age, Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, the Promised Messiah, who came in the spirit and power of all the Prophets particularly in that of Jesus Christ and the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of God be upon him). Building for a Mosque Purchased
A 3-story building for a mosque in Philadelphia, the largest city of Pennsylvania, was purchased for $42,000. Missionary Ata’ullah Kaleem inaugurated the mission building with Friday Sermon on 4 June 1982. (General File America, Diary 1972, p. 77).

Hazrat Khalifatul-Masih III Passes Away
In June 1982, while in Islamabad, Pakistan, Hazrat Khalifatul-Masih III (may Allah shower His mercy on him) suffered a severe heart attack. He died on 9 June 1982 at 12:45 P.M. Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Raji’oon. His body was taken to Rabwah for burial. (The Ahmadiyya Gazette USA, July 1982, pp. 1-2).
